U.S.
Military Uniform Museum Exhibit

The U.S.
Military Uniform Museum Exhibit, located on the 2nd floor
of the Atlantic Antique Mall features a rotating display of
military memorabilia from the private collection of owner
Gary Goldfarb.
Currently on display are more than 125 artifacts dating back
to as early as the 1850s, including slouch hats, campaign
hats and jackets, pants, winter wear, fatigues, frock coats
and more. The display spotlights United States military wear
from the Civil War to the turn of the Century which includes
the Spanish American War.
Of special interest is the collection of very rare headgear
and the extensive array of rare and unusual frock coats once
donned by high-ranking officers. Military uniforms, much like
fashion in general, experience trends as style changes throughout
the years.
Goldfarb has acquired an extensive knowledge of military memorabilia
since he began delving into the subject more than 20 years
ago. His passion has grown along with his collection, which
currently numbers over 1000 United States military uniforms
and nearly 5,000 vintage articles in total –
one of the largest private collection of its kind in the country.
